KCFW - F/W '18 Wednesday Runway Show

As promised, here's my recap of Wednesday's Fall/Winter 2018 Runway Show! I was so excited to attend for the second year as a member of the media, thank you so much to Kansas City Fashion Week for the opportunity! I'll have an additional post soon with details on my look but today we'll focus on the designers and collections featured in the show.
I loved how many of the pieces featured in the collections on Wednesday could be worn off the runway just as easily as they were worn on the runway. I cannot wait to incorporate some of these trends into my wardrobe. There was such great inspiration at this runway show!

Uh, hi, can I just please have all the super chunky Merino wool sweaters right now? With this wacky Missouri "spring" weather, I am still relying heavily on my coziest clothes to stay warm. This sweater with the fabulous gradient and incredible statement sleeves would fit right in to my cold-weather wardrobe!

After seeing this collection, I wanted to break out the combat boots and head to the nearest rock concert. I loved the mix of metallics, tulle, and leather in this collection - definitely edgy but with a feminine twist!

Edna Mode might not support capes but I certainly do! When I saw this gorgeous velvet little-red-riding-hood-esque cape coming down the runway my jaw literally dropped. I loved the statement pattern in the lining and thought it was genius paired with that little black dress and heels.

This collection emanated luxury from the fabric to the silhouettes to the subdued colors. Each piece looked like it was just begging to be worn at a fancy resort. Now I'm craving a vacation and some gorgeous lounge-wear. I haven't been able to stop thinking about this collection!

While I absolutely love seeing the incredible pieces in local designers' collections, I also really like seeing ready-to-wear pieces come down the runway! Oak Park Mall partnered with The Buckle and put together some incredibly cute looks. Half tucked button-downs, feminine patterns mixed with casual tees, and matching sets were some of my favorite featured looks. Cannot wait to incorporate these ideas into my wardrobe!

White, light, and bright seemed to be the theme in this collection! Each piece had a slightly futuristic flair and also incorporated romantic elements like gauzy fabrics and peek-a-boo cuts. I loved the necklines and puffed sleeves incorporated into some of the tops. The use of pearls on the fabric were a very sweet accent too!

Can someone please invite me to a black-tie event ASAP? Because I absolutely must to wear one of these gorgeous gowns. I was so impressed by every piece in this collection. Each gown used gorgeous fabrics and was incredibly well constructed. I'm such a girly girl so the floral elements and classic silhouettes spoke to my heart!

I said this on my Instagram stories and I'll say it again: I would wear absolutely any piece from this collection straight from the runway. Denim and chambray fabrics were featured heavily in each piece. I was surprised by how beautifully the fabrics laid and how many different silhouettes the designer created while keeping everything cohesive. It was an absolutely beautiful collection!

Which pieces were your favorite? Did you see any trends that you'll be incorporating into your wardrobe this fall? I'd love to hear all about it in the comments below!
